Sara Electronics Security Pvt. Ltd. provides advanced Fiber Optic Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS) solutions using Coherent Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (COTDR) and interferometer technologies for securing long-distance and high-security perimeters.

The solution uses Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) installed along the perimeter to detect intrusion-related disturbances and identify the affected location. It is suitable for perimeter lengths ranging from approximately 1 km to 100 km, depending on system design and site requirements.

How Fiber Optic PIDS Works

Fiber optic cable is installed along the perimeter fence, buried underground, or deployed through a suitable conduit depending on the site.

The COTDR and interferometer-based intrusion detection system continuously monitors disturbances along the optical fiber. When a suspected intrusion event is detected, the system identifies the event location and generates an alarm for the security team.

The alarm can be integrated with the Video Management System (VMS) at the Central Command & Control Centre for immediate visual verification and response.

Drone Integration: For high-security applications, camera-equipped drones can be integrated into the response workflow to assist with aerial monitoring of the detected area.
Centralized Monitoring: Intrusion alarms, location information and associated video can be monitored from a centralized security control room.
Suitable for Large Perimeters: Ideal for installations where conventional point sensors would require extensive field infrastructure.
